Floyd Fans!

Greetings,

We would like to offer you the opportunity to preview the brand new official Pink Floyd store, Pink Floyd Direct (www.pinkfloyddirect.com) before it officially launches later in the month.

The debut of this online store coincides with the introduction of a complete range of Pink Floyd merchandise, designed by longtime Floyd designer Storm Thorgerson and in conjunction with the band's official merchandising company, Anthill. It is the largest collection of Pink Floyd memorabilia ever assembled in one place.

Designer Thorgerson is the creative wizard responsible for virtually all of the Pink Floyd album covers, and many of the concert films so integral to legendary Pink Floyd stage shows.

Having developed a close affinity with many Floyd fans, Anthill realized that certain key Floyd album art images had never been incorporated into the merchandising.

At launch, the store will feature five exclusive Thorgerson designed T-shirts based on 'Saucerful of Secrets,' 'Wish You Were Here,' 'Umma Gumma,' 'Animals,' and 'Momentary Lapse of Reason.' New T-shirts will be introduced on the site every month until the Millennium. These designs have been created with the full cooperation of the band. Anthill originally approached Thorgerson to create a 'Dark Side Of the Moon' T-shirt to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its release. That new shirt 'Dark Side - In the Studio' became the catalyst to the entire new collection.

As Storm says, "We wanted new designs mostly, not old ones, nor reworked ones so we listened again to the albums and re-designed from scratch from the music and from themes in the lyrics. Observant floydians will detect history's serpentine head, whilst dedicated followers of fashion will enjoy the fine quality of printing and sentimentalists can wear the items back to front. We aim to please."

The store which is open twenty four hours a day, seven days a week features more than 40 other products including a complete range of T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, magnets, posters, jewelry, videos, music and books. This collection, brought together for the first time online, is a must for all serious Pink Floyd fans, and the first customers to the site will receive a free 'Division Bell' cup with every purchase. In keeping with Pink Floyd's commitment to being on the cutting edge of technology, the site is available in a Flash and non Flash version.

Be the first on your block to own the brand new Pink Floyd merchandise.

PINKFLOYDdirect.com is the most recent addition to the ARTISTdirect network (www.artistdirect.com) that operates other official online stores for The Rolling Stones, and the soon to be launched Pearl Jam and CSNY stores.

I first heard Pink Floyd in the mid 80's, I am one of the younger Floyd lovers. Being born in '75, I should have been in my prime in '75. Oh well!! can't have it all. Great site!!

I remember the first time I heard Pink Floyd. It was in the
sixties, and my friend Ralph played "Pipers at the Gate of
Dawn". My only comment was, "Someone gave Mother Goose an
axe!" Great site!

This site is fntastic. I am from a very small town in Wyo., so I didn't have the privilage of being introduced to Floyd until I was 18.
They are now my favorite band of all time. My favorites include echos, wish you were, and saucer full of secrets. Thanks for the site!

When I bought PIPER, I was overwhelmed at the sound of
Floyd at the time. Then I bought SAUCERFUL which really
got me into early Floyd. I really like LET THERE BE MORE
LIGHT and SNYCOPATED PANDEMONIUM from A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS
I wish that Syd was still with Floyd [If it wasn't for the
drugs he was into]. Then Pink Floyd would sound better than
ever. Long live Syd Barrett.

Hello everyone.
The only good thing about living in 1999 is that the 80s, which seems to be the darkset decade (in Music and Culture) after the 2nd WorldWar, are over. Being born in 1977, I'm sad never having seen what it was really like in the late 60s. I don't believe that the people were better, more clever or whatever, but they followed the right ones! But even in the 60s, the star of Pink Floyd shone brighter, no, not brighter, but in colours which were never seen before and after. My favourite Bands all released their best Albums in 1967 or 1968 (Deep Purple: Book of Taliesyn, Beatles: White Album...), so Pink Floyd within the genius SYD BARRETT (whatabout a chapter about him...?): THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN, absolutly the best thing ever heard by my ears. Unfortunatly I found nothing compareable, although Syd's solo releases and other PF stuff like Ummagumma are more or less close to it. If you have the same problem, this page might interest you: www2.whidbey.net/~mvandyke/artist.html a page about psychedelic artists. ---- A few words about this page: UU, I like it, one of my first bookmarks! Thanks for lot's of .ra! ----- Another Problem: The way of making music has changed extremly, so I don't think that we're gonna see anything like in 1967 in the future. For example concerts: Today noone just sits to the floor and listens to the music, there has to be action... in this way things like "Set the controls for the heart of the sun" couldn't be performed! And so on & on & on... (I hate Rap!!! I wonder how it could have happend that it's now heard everywhere!) ---- Greetings to everyone who likes being greeted by my!
