Colony morale calculations
The issue on this page is colony morale, how is it calculated? Some
affiliations will have no use for this, ie FGZ and BHD. There are quite
a few holes in these figures, and I ask that those who know these things
let me know so I can be more accurate. Where morale items are given to
colonists, the unit is 1 per 1000 population (well, don't ask me what
alien pets do with the stellars...). So, if you order to give your
2000 citizens 20 stellars to get a +20 morale factor, it will cost
you 40 stellars a week.
Positive:
- Class: +1 per colony class
- Food: +1 per MU given above 25, max +10.
- Luxuries: bonus for items given, max +30
- Drugs: bonus for drugs given, max +30
- Stellars: +1 per stellar given, max +30
- Hospitals: +3 if one hospital per 5000 population
- Morale complexes: +4 if one morale complex per 1000 *
- Merchandising complexes: +7 if one per 5000 population
Negative:
- Death rate: -1 per 0.5 death rate
- Food: -1 per food ration below 25
- Structural units: -10 penalty for insufficient structural units
- Envirodomes: -10 if none and required, if some -1 per 1000 lacking
- Security crackdown: -5 per crackdown level, -2 only for IMP
* Morale complexes are gambling, recreation and restaurants, it is the
total that matters (I think)
